A group of young girls in Long Island City, Queens, have embarked on a fun and very artistic green project. The tweens, mostly aged 12, have taken old bicycle parts and have transformed them into jewelry – like bracelets, and charms. The girls participating in this project have been attending the recycling activities at the the Green Girls summer institute run by the City Parks Foundation which is held in conjunction with Recycle-A-Bicycle.
