Pic-a-Boo is Your iOS Peek-a-Boo Proxy

Can’t be with your baby all the time, right? Now you can let them play a game of peek-a-boo anytime, even when you’re gone.

Obviously, it’s no replacement for actually playing peek-a-boo with your baby, but if you’re in a bind and in need of a little electronic assistance, the Pic-a-Boo app should serve nicely. The free app features an electronic pair of hands that open up to reveal any number of pictures that you upload. You can have the app record your baby’s reactions to watch later. The app responds to touch, so when a baby touches the screen, the hands will open or close. There’s an optional screen lock you can set, so your baby doesn’t accidentally leave the app.

A $1.99 in-app purchase adds extra pictures of farm animals and other creatures, with appropriate sound effects, for babies to play around with. You’ll also get extra backgrounds, plus farm doors and blankets instead of virtual hands.

Your baby will still need supervision by someone when using the app, of course, but getting to see your baby’s reactions later on should still be rewarding. Pic-a-Boo is available now on the iTunes App Store for free.
