3D’s still in the middle of its most recent comeback. Fortunately for the younger crowd (or, their parents), one of the ways it’s coming back is through a relatively inexpensive, easy-to-clean arts and crafts toy – MagnaColor.
The MagnaColor 3D Magic Dots set comes with four outlines, four pens, and 160 metallic dots that come in four different colors. The outlines are magnetic, so kids can load up the dots into their respectively colored pens, and press down dots on the outlines to finish the picture. Once they’re done, they can throw on the included 3D glasses and watch as their creations pop out at them. Once playtime is over, the dots can easily be slid off the outlines and back into storage, using the screen sweeper.
The sets themselves don’t offer much in the way of free play, but it’s easy to imagine that once kids get bored of the four included sets, they can take to the fridge to fashion their very own works of art. Design packs will also be available, which include eight more outlines, one pen, and 100 dots of a certain color, along with an extra set of glasses. Currently, outlines include general fare like rainbow sky and midnight garden, as well as licensed stuff from Dora the Explorer, Hello Kitty, and SpongeBob SquarePants.
You can get the starter set for MagnaColor now on the Toys ‘R’ Us website for about $25.
