The grand celebration of the 8-bit, arcade heyday that is Wreck-It Ralph is now heading to a decidedly more modern platform – iOS.
The Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe is the newest in Disney’s line of digital interactive storybooks, this time focusing on their new video game villain-turned-hero, Wreck-It Ralph. The storybook features animations, illustrations and the same voice talent from the movie. Multiple reading levels are available to suit kids of all ages, and word-for-word narration is also included. This one goes beyond the usual Disney storybook by allowing kids to upload pictures of themselves to the app – after that, kids will see their face appear occasionally in the storybook. There’s also a kart racing game packaged in, where racers can build their own kart and compete against characters from the movie.
For older readers, there’s the Hero’s Duty Interactive Comic, which follows the combat video game shown during Wreck-It Ralph. It’s a 22-page comic that serves as a prequel to Wreck-It Ralph, explaining the story of Hero’s Duty. In addition to the illustrations, there will be sound effects and original music based on the movie’s soundtrack.
The Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe and Hero’s Duty Interactive Comic are available on the iTunes App Store for $6.99 and $1.99, respectively.
