Preschoolers Build a House With Bizzy Bear

The latest storybook app from publisher Nosy Crow sees the second appearance of Bizzy Bear in an iPad app. Bizzy Bear Builds a House is intended for preschoolers aged two to four, and aims to set a foundation for strong reading skills.

The story features Bizzy Bear, his friends, and the reader as they get to work building a brand new house. Kids will be able to use all kinds of construction equipment along the way, like cranes, dump trucks, and cement mixers. Bizzy gives young readers a lot of encouragement and support along the way, too. It’s a great way to get preschoolers started on reading. Wonderful original animation, narration, and music make sure that your budding reader will enjoy the ride.

The story features narration with children’s voices and word tracking, which changes the colors of the words as they are read aloud. More advanced readers can choose to turn off the narration. Each page is packed with tons of interactive extras, like extra dialogue if characters are pressed. Characters will also point out interactive objects in the background that will provide extra sound effects and animations. In narration mode, parents can choose to slow down the pace of the text, to make sure their children are able to read along with the narration.

Bizzy Bear Builds a House is available on the iTunes App Store for $3.99, and works with both the iPhone and the iPad.
