In the 80’s the Rubik’s cube was all the rage and a major pop culture icon. Some of us still can’t figure it out. And now comes along the Rubik’s Revolution. It is essentially Simon in a stationary cube. Yes that’s right! Nothing on it moves! It’s as still as the Brangelina wax figure in Madame Tussaud’s and not half as attractive.
On all six sides there is a middle square that is a button. It is set back inside the cube as you can see from the picture above, There are six different games that can be chosen by tapping these different colored buttons as directed by the muffled voice within the cube. The cube progressively unlocks levels as you get better. The games are:
Light Speed – Hit the buttons that light up as fast and accurately as you can before the timer runs out.
Rapid Recharge – Push buttons rapidly to recharge each color before the time runs out.
Cube Catcher – Hit the buttons that light up as fast and accurately as you can before the timer runs out.
Code Cracker- Figure out the sequence of buttons to push to crack the code.
Pattern Panic – This is a cube version of Simon. The voice in the cube tells you what colors to push. Every time a new color is added.
Multi Player Madness – Hot Potato
Do these descriptions sound a lot alike? Well the games are. Although entertaining at first, once mastered it may sit next to your original Rubik’s Cube to gather decades of dust. The Rubik’s Revolution retails for $19.99.
