I don’t know about you, but when I was younger the mere thought of gym class made me cringe. In Charleston, West Virginia, where the obesity on the national level is at its worst, they are trying to make it a whole lot easier for kids to get in shape without having to play horse. Dance Dance Revolution, the video game, is being introduced into the school system there as an alternate gym class. According to the school system it helps get kids more focused on fitness and health by making it more fun. Charleston is introducing this program in 157 middle schools as a pilot program and will eventually segue it into the high schools of West Virginia as well. Each school will receive a game console and two dance pads, plus the software. (Source: CNN via Gawker)
