Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. Brings Back the ’90s Brand as an Online Lifestyle Magazine

Tamagotchi is making a comeback, but maybe not quite in the way you’d expect. Sure, there’s the obligatory old-school monster-raising Tamagotchi experience, in new-and-improved app form. But, there’s a lot more to this revival than just an old ’90s game.

Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. is a website that presents itself a bit like a lifestyle magazine – a blog and a series of webisodes will follow fashion and lifestyle trends directed at young adults and twentysomethings. A lot of that coverage will focus on independent creators and designers in the fashion world, like the current webisode, which puts the spotlight on a vintage hatmaker (a milliner) based in West Los Angeles. The site will also honor those who are nominated for doing good in their communities through their Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. Hometown Hero award.

The site is aiming to become very community oriented, so if you’re a fan of what small businesses have to offer, it might be a fun site to check out. The Tamagotchi app isn’t quite ready yet, but you can sign up to be notified when it becomes available.

Update 1/26/2013: It turns out Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. will be more than just an online magazine. Beginning with the app launch, there will be many other products coming down the line.
