Game developer and budding children’s eBook author Scott Langteau has just released his newest yarn for kids, called The Question. The Question follows a tech-inclined little boy as his mind races in advance of the first big snowstorm of the season – an imaginative effort that becomes very large in a hurry, leaving him with one big question at the end.
There’s an educational component to help out beginning readers, too. Word-by-word read along highlighting and narration from the author are both available, and individual words can be singled out for pronunciation practice. Unfamiliar words can be defined, and links to extra information online are provided (if you want to teach your kids about the great state of Wisconsin, definitely give this app a long look).
The illustrations from Lidat Truong are heartwarming and should appeal to the younger crowd. It’s a fun, light-hearted story, and one that deserves consideration this holiday season. The Question is available now on the iTunes App Store for $2.99. It’s available on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch, but you will need iBooks to read it.
