Letters for Santa is an eBook app that follows a missing little reindeer named Ruben, and his big secret. The bulk of the app is an interactive story packed with animations, sounds, and touch-based activities. At the very end, there’s even a chance for the little ones to send a handwritten letter using touch directly to Santa from the convenience of the mobile device.
The Wii is good. It’s fun for the whole family. Large Wiimotes flying out of small hands and careening into expensive television sets? Not as good. Now, you can grab a kid-friendly Wiimote for the newest gamer in the family.

As of yesterday, Once Upon a Monster owners can invite in a friendly UFO invasion to their Sesame Street-filled storybook world. The Unidentified Furry Objects DLC for the Xbox 360 Kinect game adds a new chapter to the storybook that is the game’s world, bringing on some intergalactic explorers to interact with Elmo, Cookie Monster, and the gang.
The holiday tradition of the Hess Toy Truck continues this year, with a tow truck bringing along a race car, both decked out with the Hess brand and the familiar white and green color scheme (note: if you have not spent any time on the East Coast, this will most likely not be familiar, at all).

The Chuggington: Terrific Trainee App, from Starz, has pulled into the iTunes App Store. It’s ready to depart, taking young kids on a train adventure they’ll be sure to cherish. The app is based on the CGI-animated Disney Junior show and interactive website that follows the adventure of trainees Wilson, Brewster, and Koko, as they overcome obstacles, both literal and figurative. The show is aimed at social and emotional development for younger children, and the app is no different.
