Team Umizoomi has become a very popular Nickelodeon cartoon because not only do kids enjoy watching it, but parents love it too because it teaches kids math skills. As a matter of fact, the show has become so popular that it is now one of the top five preschool shows on TV, sharing the spotlight with the likes of Dora the Explorer. Now Nickelodeon plans on releasing special Team Umizoomi Math Kits for kids to work on at home. The kits help prepare kids for kindergarten, by teaching them about numbers, counting, patterns, shapes, measuring, positioning, sorting, classification and reasoning.
The Team Umizoomi Math Kits include:
• 48-page workbook that amplifies the curriculum covered in each episode, setting up problems and providing opportunities for practice and repetition
• 24-page storybook that invites kids to join Team Umizoomi on a math adventure
• 24 Mighty Math Mission Cards – portable cards that provide math-based challenges for kids
• 48-page activity book that reinforces math skills through simple games and activities
• Team Umizoomi episode on DVD
The kits will be available to purchase starting in July, exclusively at Toys “R” Us. But they will also be available to purchase on Nickelodeon’s own web site, starting in mid-July. They will retail for $19.99 each.
