Freekibble.com and Freekibblekat.com were two sites created by am animal loving 12 year old girl. Mimi Ausland from Bend, Oregon wanted to find a way to feed the hungry and abandoned animals at her local shelter, from that simple desire both sites were born. “There are 10’s of thousands of dogs and cats in animal shelters across the country, all needing to be fed a good meal.†The concept of the site is to answer basic trivia questions created by Mimi herself. If you answer the question correct then 10 pieces of kibble can be donated to a shelter. Everyday Mimi updates the site with a new question she created. But what is 10 pieces of kibble for hundreds of hungry dogs?! So it is encouraged to send the site to as many people as you know, answer the simple trivia question and then hopefully enough kibble is earned to be a tasty meal for a shelter dog. So far 56,524,100 pieces of kibble have been donated and 493,942 meals have been served. The food is sponsored by Castor and Pollux which provides nutritional kibble not unhealthy junk for the dogs. At the end of the month Mimi delivers the food personally to her local shelter. So be sure to go to Freekibble and Freekibblekat everyday. Not only will you be helping to feed a shelter dog but you may learn something new too.
